California passes law requiring Smartphones to have ‘Kill Switches’ (Video)

Legislation unveiled Friday in California would require smartphones and other mobile devices to have a kill switch to render them inoperable if lost or sto.  The kill switch, a system for remotely disabling smartphones and wiping data, is expected to become standard in 2015.

The World’s First Modular Smartphone (Video)

Google’s ATAP group, led by Paul Eremenko, takes the DARPA philosophy and applies it to building phones. Google’s Project Ara, which is a project to make a modular smartphone which has interchangable pieces. StoreDot unveils new technology to charge Smartphone’s in 30 seconds (Video)
