Texas man uses AquaDam to save his home from floodwaters (video)

June 11, 2016 — by feedmeister0

ROSHARON, Texas – Of the thousands of homes evacuated and damaged by flooding in Brazoria County, one family’s home is high and dry on West FM 1462 in Rosharon.

Randy Wagner decided to take a chance on something called an Aqua Dam, a product he discovered online.

Rosharon, and many parts of Brazoria County were filled with military vehicles and airboats to facilitate mandatory evacuations when the Brazos River began to overflow.

“Your family being relocated and you know it’s heartbreaking to know that that could happen,” said Wagner.

Wagner was determined to find a way to save his home, after Brazos River Authority warned residents of the approaching floods that hadn’t been seen in decades.

“To not know what that level was going to stop at, I needed to prepare for something that no one has seen,” said Wagner.

He drove to Louisiana and purchased an AquaDam, learned how to install it and with the help of two other men, the dam kept the water back.

He filled up 400 feet of 30 inch high tubes made of plastic and fabric with water.

“I was the crazy guy. Everybody was kinda going by, laughing at me. But today they are really impressed with this AquaDam,” said Wagner.

He and his family stayed, waited and watched as the water rose to 27 inches, but never seeped through the barriers. The product cost him money, but he told KHOU 11 News it was well worth his sanity.

“$8,300 is to me a small investment on a house that could have two feet of water in it and cost me $150,000 in repairs.” he said.

Now he has a place to come home to and hopes that others will learn from the chance he took on a company he found online.

“Emergency management could use it. I remember when Addicks reservoir was going over Highway 6. It could’ve been used.” he said.

Biotech firm ‘Bioquark’ to use stem cells to bring dead back to life (videos)

June 2, 2016 — by feedmeister0

Here is something that sounds so crazy, that you would think it could only happen in some out of this world sci-fi movie.  A biotech firm called ‘Bioquark‘ plans to inject stem cells directly into the brain of brain dead patients on life support with a combination of peptides to reboot the brain, and to bring the patient back to life.

Bioquark‘s website states that they are focused on novel biologics that have the ability to alter the regulatory state of human tissues and organs, with the goal of curing a range of chronic diseases, as well as effecting complex regeneration.

Their mission is to merge 21st century science, to reverse cellular degeneration and to heal the effects of the aging process.  Bioquark‘s core program focuses on the development of a novel class of substances termed combinatorial biologics.

Combinatorial biologics are modeled off of biochemical dynamics found in various species which can naturally modify biologic regulatory state to achieve beneficial endpoints such as complex tissue and organ regeneration, disease reversion, and even biological age reversal.

I have attached 2 videos for your viewing pleasure.  The 1st video is a news video about the recent approval to start trials on 20 brain dead patients on life support.  The 2nd video is a Bioquark company video from 2013.

The Zika Virus Mosquito Killing Billboard (video)

April 22, 2016 — by feedmeister0

The World Health Organization (WHO) and The CDC have declared the Zika Virus a global emergency. So some of the greatest minds are searching for answers to assist, or put an end to the pandemic. Here is one of the latest inventions to assist in the Zika pandemic.  We would like to introduce  ‘The Mosquito Killer Billboard’ which is an out-of-home panel equipped with technology that attracts and kills the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

This is How it works:

1.  The sign sends a solution of CO2 and lactic acid into the air mimicking the the smell of human sweet and breating.

2.  The smell can attract the mosquitos from a distance of around 4 kilometers.

3.  The sign as flurorescent lights to enhance the attraction to the mosquito.

4.  Since the mosquito flies on average around 4 feet off the ground, the sign has a catch mechanism at height.

5.  The catch mechanism draws the mosquito into the panel of death.

6.  The mosquitos get stuck inside and ultimately die of dehydration

Here is a blue print of the killer Mosquito Killer Billboard:

Google to introduce the self-driving bicycle in Amsterdam this spring (Video)

April 1, 2016 — by feedmeister0

Now you have to admit, this definitely sounds like something out of a si-fi movie.
It took me a while to grasp the concept of the self-driving car, but after a through analysis, I can understand the basics.  The self-driving bicicle on the other hand sounds like a cruel April Fools joke to all the techies.

The video was uploaded to a Google Nederland channel on March 31, 2016.  This is what they had to say in their description.

“This spring, Google is introducing the self-driving bicycle in Amsterdam, the world’s premier cycling city. The Dutch cycle more than any other nation in the world, almost 900 kilometres per year per person, amounting to over 15 billion kilometres annually. The self-driving bicycle enables safe navigation through the city for Amsterdam residents, and furthers Google’s ambition to improve urban mobility with technology. Google Netherlands takes enormous pride in the fact that a Dutch team worked on this innovation that will have great impact in their home country.”

Now watch the video for yourself, and see if this a dispicable April Fool’s joke, that ranks up there with the first hoverboard invention video, or a real-deal certified invention.

Microsoft’s Holoportation: Virtual 3D teleportation in real-time (Video)

March 26, 2016 — by feedmeister0

Holoportation is a new type of 3D capture technology that allows high quality 3D models of people to be reconstructed, compressed, and transmitted anywhere in the world in real-time.

When combined with mixed reality displays such as HoloLens, this technology allows users to see and interact with remote participants in 3D as if they are actually present in their physical space.

Communicating and interacting with remote users becomes as natural as face to face communication.

Boston Dynamics Atlas Robot is Almost Ready for Your Job

February 24, 2016 — by feedmeister0

Hats off to Boston Dynamics. It looks that they have just made a major quantum leap with the Atlas Robot after watching they’re newest video on YouTube. Google bought Boston Dynamics a few years ago, and you can see that the robots have advanced dramatically.

Watch as the Atlas humanoid robot walks through the woods, picks up boxes, placing them on shelves, and even picks itself back off the floor after being pushed over. The Atlas also has self balancing and defensive characteristics built in like they’re 4 legged beasts that you saw on the videos from last year.

I calculate that by the advancement made with the Atlas, that these guys might be in a warehouse near you by 2025. Here is the video and a link to Boston’s channel is below, enjoy.

Space X Falcon 9 Rocket Crash lands on Barge (Video)

January 16, 2015 — by feedmeister0

Here is footage of the Space X Falcon 9 rocket crash landing on a floating barge in the Atlantic Ocean.  The Falcon 9 rocket was launched last week to the International Space Station carrying supplies.  Elon Musk has been attempting to have the rockets do vertical landings on return so the rockets could be reusable.  Many of the other landings have been successful, but this one was just a little bit more technical.

January 9, 2015 — by feedmeister0

École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) just uploaded Youtube footage to there channel showing how they used a soft and stretchable neural implant called e-Dura to restore locomotion to paralyzed rats.  The implant combines electrical and chemical stimulation to restore mobility to the host.  This technology could allow paralyzed people to walk again in the not to distant future.  The woman describing the neural implants in this video is Stéphanie Lacour a Professor at EPFL.

Bill Gates drinking water that use to be Sewer Sludge (Video)

January 7, 2015 — by feedmeister0

Janicki Bioenergy built this amazing, ingenious machine called the Omniprocessor.  The machine burns human waste turning it into drinkable water and also electricity.  They are calling this machine a game changer for Countries without access to good waste treatment plants.  It could also help bring drinking water to so many people in need of it.  Check out this awesome footage as Bill Gates drinks the water that use to be human waste.
